Coco is a 2017 American computer-animated musical comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.The film was co-directed by Lee Unkrich (Pixar's former longtime director), who also directed Toy Story 3, and Adrian Molina. Translating Coco into several languages other than English was Pixar's longest localization project. The Japanese version of the film was released on March 16, 2018, with the Japanese dub being done by Tomoko Kaneda. It has since become the highest grossing Pixar film in Japan, with over ¥4 billion (~US$35 million) in gross revenue as of June 2018.In Mexico, where it is titled La Leyenda de Miguel Rivera , the film has also been well received. It also became the highest-grossing animated feature in Mexican history at US$77 million, breaking the previous record set by The Book of Life with US$60 million.

Following the death of his musician idol Ernesto de la Cruz, 12-year-old Miguel Rivera accidentally arrives in a parallel world called "Los Ángeles de la Muerte" (the Angels of Death), a place filled with the souls of deceased family members and friends. He learns that his great-great-grandmother Mamá Imelda Rivera, a singer whom he idolizes, led a similar journey to his own within her childhood as well as years later as an adult performer. Miguel decides to use the amulet left to him by Ernesto to return to Los Ángeles de la Muerte and find out how Mamá Imelda died.
